Spring is right around the corner and the little town of Erie, Colorado is getting ready. Construction is continuing on two new schools. One charter school and one elementary. (see photos)

Available housing supply is at a low point with only 150 or so homes on the market

Meritage homes is planning on 130 new homes in Erie Commons, right across the street from our new REMAX Vista office on Briggs St. They should be breaking ground in March.

The Town of Erie's new golf cart law goes into effect next week It looks like some of the airpark and Vista Ridge residences have jumped the gun a little with some early trial runs. Drivers and bicylclists, keep your eyes open.

I haven't seen it yet, but I hear the FAA is leaning towards grandfathering all existing accesses. Great news for aviation communities like Erie Municipal Airport / EIK.

Town leaders appear to be taking a stand for the homeowners of Erie Airpark. Although the matter of through the fence fees is becoming more complicated because it got "kicked to headquarters (FAA)", Town leaders seem to be unanimously in favor of continuing the status quo. If you are planning on having your home appraised, do it quickly!

GREAT NEWS FOR ALL OF ERIE! Construction of the new four-plex softball facility in the center of New Town is well under way. When the dirt settles and the seed grows, thousands of people, young and old, will be able to enjoy the facility. It won't hurt anyone's property values either. GO ERIE!

More news on the through the fence fees at Erie Airpark. Officials at Town Hall agree that permits can once again be issued. If you are an Airpark resident or lot owner, my advice would be to hurry. Additionally, it seems that there is a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 5th, hosted by the Mayor, Andrew J. Moore, to discuss said fees, access in general and our relationship with the FAA. All interested parties should definately attend, with or without their display of fireworks.

Erie Airport Thru the Fence

There is a potential storm brewing that will effect real estate values in Erie Airpark. The Town of Erie Municipal Government is not allowing any more access permits to be issued to residences. Lack of access will have a substantial de-evaluation effect on all Airpark properties. As of today, the Building Department is not issuing permits to build hangars either. Town officials say they are working on a solution to the issue. Although we haven't seen any documentation of compromise yet between the Town and FAA, we hope it comes fast.
